As many of the learners from our Readiness Institute Summer Discovery know, our connection doesn’t just end after the summer. We continue to stay in touch with learners when they go back for their senior year, after they graduate high school, and beyond. As the final week of the Readiness Institute Summer Discovery drew to a close, learners took full advantage of the unique opportunities that the program has offered for the last six weeks.
This week, learners focused on innovation for their community readiness skill and explored career pathways in health care.
Week four of Summer Discovery provided some extraordinary moments of learning and exploration. This week’s topics and activities included touring a LEED Platinum–certified building, pitching business ideas, visiting innovative facilities in Pittsburgh, exploring environmental science, and touring advanced manufacturing sites and even delved into mental health literacy.
