Penn State’s Readiness Institute Summer Discovery program is being awarded a $40,000 grant to help keep it up and running. The grant is coming from the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
The Readiness Institute at Penn State Summer Discovery will continue in 2025 for 12 rising high school seniors from Cambria and Somerset Counties, in part because of a $40,000 grant provided by the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.
Alexandria Rhoads, an aerospace engineering student in Penn State’s College of Engineering, said the Readiness Institute Summer Discovery set her up for success as a person. Rhoads was part of the cohort that attended the summer program during its inaugural year in 2021.
