The Readiness Institute Summer Discovery offers high school students a transformative experience to explore their futures, build leadership skills, and prepare for their next steps. The program includes on-site speakers and workshops on essential skills, off-site field trips to local businesses and workplaces, community service projects, and other programming on readiness pathways and mental health.
The Summer Discovery program exemplifies a unified approach to Outreach by bringing together resources from across the University and Commonwealth communities to support the needs of Pennsylvania’s future workforce. The program creates a collaborative network that helps address regional challenges and cultivates a stronger, more engaged society.
The paid experience fosters personal growth and relationships, readiness for postsecondary student success, and civic engagement and empowers students with the tools they need to be community and future ready. After the program concludes, participants will have continued access to support, including mentorship, additional learning experiences, and peer networking.
